Please don't give personal opinion.

Yesterday a "journalist" in India, know for his hatred for Muslims and a fascist enabler died. I wanted to know if it is permissible to curse him, since we do curse people like Abu Lahab, his wife, Firaun etc.

Hello everyone,

I am a student in university and I am taking some history courses out of interest. One of my interests is medieval history, and in this field Christianity shows up a lot. I find it interesting studying about these historical Christian figures, such as saints and leaders, and also reading hagiographies and other Christian documents. The subject of the nature of Christianity, their practices, beliefs, and events regarding the religion also shows up a lot too. I was wondering if this is haram? It's not like I believe in what's written, it's merely out of interest as their perspective is fascinating (historical) sometimes

435. The Virtues of Reciting the First Kalimah

The declaration of belief in the oneness of Allah or Kalimah Tayyibah

Laa ilaaha ill-Allah

(There is no worthy of worship except Allah)

Zaid bin ‘Arqam (Ra) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever says Laa ilaaha illal-laah…sincerely will enter the Paradise.”

It was said: And what is the [sign of] sincerity? He said:“That this Kalimah stops him from those things which Allah has forbidden.” [Tabaraani in Awsat-ul-Kabeer]

Almighty Allah says: “Do you not see how Allah puts forth the likeness of a good word (kalimah tayyibah)? It is like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and whose branches reach to the sky. It brings forth its fruit in all seasons by the command of its Lord. And Allah sets forth parables for men, so that they may take heed. And the likeness of an evil word (kalimah khabeetha- a word of shirk) is like an evil tree, which is uprooted from the face of the earth, and has no stability.” [Qur’an: 24-26]

What I do is: from the intention to do tawbah before doing wudu. (Example: in my head I say “I intend to do wudu to do tawbah” before doing wudu. Then I make to rakat salat al nafl. Then I start to make fun and ask for forgiveness and try to be really sincere. Is this the correct way

I also do it before a prayer I’ve yet to do usually

I went on islamqa for instructions on acceptable ghusl and one of the things I had to do for ghusl was rinse my mouth and nose. It didn’t specify how many times or anything like that. I did it 3 (nose and mouth) to make sure water was entering it. After I finish, I go check another website to make sure I did it correctly and it says rinse until fleshy part of the nose ends. I think the water entered farther. Does this make my ghusl invalid

Edit: to make it clear, I did not know about the fleshy nose part and assumed it was just all the nose.

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Friday will have a light between this Friday and the next.”

In another narration, the Prophet said, “Whoever reads Surat al-Kahf as it was revealed, there will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection.”

Assalamualaikum to whoever is reading this. I have a question regarding a verse but cannot seem to find an answer to it. In chapter 4, verse 24 it states "And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess. It is a decree of Allah for you. Lawful unto you are all beyond those mentioned, so that ye seek them with your wealth in honest wedlock, not debauchery. And those of whom ye seek content (by marrying them), give unto them their portions as a duty. And there is no sin for you in what ye do by mutual agreement after the duty (hath been done). Lo! Allah is ever Knower, Wise."

I understand this part talks about who we can and cannot marry but the part I cannot understand is, it says it is forbidden to marry already married women except for captives. If a Muslim or people of the book slave women was married to another Muslim slave man or free man would her owner still be able to marry her? I know that it is definitely not allowed for a woman to have more than 1 husband.

Guys am literally shocked , time is flying literally time is flying:-|

We just started Ramadan yesterday and now it's about to end 😞

This was one of the signs of qiyamma (end of the world). Abû Hurayrah said: "The Prophet - sallallâhu ’alayhi wa sallam - said: 'The Hour will not come until time passes so quickly that a year will be like a month, a month like a week, a week like a day, a day like an hour, and an hour like the time it takes for a palm-leaf to burn'."

Champagne (2)

Giorgio Armani Champagne (2) Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer HighlighterGiorgio Armani Champagne (2) Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer Highlighter ($44.00 for 0.61 oz.) is a very light, champagne gold with warmer undertones and a sparkling sheen. It had larger shimmer particles compared to other shades in the formula, though not so large as to be actual glitter.

The texture was very thin, fluid, and almost watery, so it was something that readily sheered out. It was intended to be sheer, which was accurate, but it was definitely such a sheer product that I didn’t feel like the warmth of the color really translated in practice. I got more of a soft, luminous effect with more golden flecks of pearl and sparkle–as a result, some shades in the range tend to look the same once on.

It applied evenly to bare skin with fingertips or a brush, while a brush was better for getting an even application and minimizing lifting when applied over a base product. The product mixed well with foundation for all-over luminosity but the effect was definitely subtle when mixed in. This shade lasted for eight hours before fading visibly.

FURTHER READING: Formula Overview for details on general performance and characteristics (like scent).

Formula Overview

$44.00/0.61 oz. - $72.13 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be "ultra blendable" with "sheer coverage" and have a "natural dewy" finish. It can be applied on its own, on top of products, or mixed in with foundation.

The coverage was very sheer, and the more fluid, almost watery, consistency made what was already sheer coverage have a tendency to be even sheerer. I found that the effect of it on its own, as a standalone highlighter, on top of products or bare skin was very subtle to the point where it looked more like faint particles of shimmer but little color and subtle luminosity.

Applied over bare skin, fingertips or brushes worked well, but I preferred a duo-fiber, more feathery brush for applying it over foundation as it seemed more prone to leaving behind fingertips when I tried patting it over foundation. It mixed well with different foundations, and it also was something that mixed well with moisturizers or more fluid primers.

It dries down for the most part, so it wasn't prone to sliding around while worn nor did it feel tacky on. They wore around eight hours on average before fading.

May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you all!

We are halfway through the month, reaching the 15th day of Ramadan!

The 15th juz of the Qur'an consists of the following two complete chapters:

Chapter 17: Al-'Isrā' - The Night Journey

Chapter 18: Al-Kahf - The Cave - Verses 1-74

Both Surah Al-Isra and Surah Al-Kahf were revealed during the last stages of the Prophet Muhammad's mission in Makkah, before the migration to Madinah. After over a decade of oppression, the Muslims organized themselves to leave Makkah and start a new life in Madinah.

Summary

Surah Al-Isra is also known as "Bani Israil," a phrase that is taken from the fourth verse. However, the Jewish people are not the main theme of this surah. Rather, this surah was revealed at the time of Isra' and Mi'raj, the Prophet's night journey and ascension. This is why the surah is also known as "Al-Isra." The journey is mentioned at the beginning of the surah.

Through the rest of the chapter, Allah gives the disbelievers of Makkah a warning, just as other communities such as the Israelites had been warned before them. They are advised to accept the invitation to give up idol-worship and turn to faith in Allah alone, before they face a punishment like those before them.

As for the believers, they are advised on good behavior: being kind to their parents, gentle and generous with the poor, supportive of their children, faithful to their spouses, true to their word, fair in business dealings, and humble as they walk the earth. They are warned of the arrogance and temptations of Satan, and reminded that the Day of Judgment is real. All of this helps strengthen the resolve of the believers, giving them patience in the midst of difficulties and persecution.

In the following chapter, Surah Al-Kahf, Allah further comforts the believers with the story of the "Sleepers of the Cave." They were a group of righteous youth who were mercilessly persecuted by a corrupt king in their community, just as the Muslims were being mistreated at the time in Makkah. Rather than lose hope, they emigrated to a nearby cave and were protected from harm. Allah let them sleep (hibernate) for a long period of time, perhaps hundreds of years, and Allah knows best. They awoke to a changed world, in a town filled with believers, feeling like they had only slept a short time.

Throughout this section of Surah Al-Kahf, additional parables are narrated, to give believers strength and hope, and to warn the unbelievers of the punishment to come.

May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you all!

We have reached the 16th day of Ramadan!

The 16th juz of the Qur'an consists of the following two complete chapters:

Chapter 18: Al-Kahf - The Cave - Verses 75-110

Chapter 19: Maryam - Mary

Chapter 20: Ţāhā - Ta Ha

Surah Al-Kahf was revealed during the last stages of the Prophet Muhammad's mission in Makkah, before the migration to Madinah. After over a decade of oppression, the Muslims organized themselves to leave Makkah and start a new life in Madinah. Surah Maryam and Surah Ta Ha were revealed in Madinah a bit before this, before the migration to Abyssinia. Authentic traditions report that the first forty verses of Surah Maryam were recited to the King of Abyssinia, to help him understand the Islamic teachings about the Prophets John and Jesus, peace be upon them.

Summary

In the remaining part of Surah Al-Kahf, Allah reiterates the idea that the Hereafter is real, and that it is in the disbelievers' best interests to mend their ways and turn to the right path before they face the inevitable punishment.

Maryam the mother of Jesus (Mary in English) is the only woman mentioned by name in the Quran, and this next chapter is named after her. The first part of the chapter relates the stories of John and Jesus, peace be upon him, from the Islamic perspective. The story of Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him, is also mentioned both to show the unified origin of the message of Islam, and to console the Muslims who were facing persecution or migration to Abyssinia. In the last part of the chapter, the disbelievers of Makkah are heavily criticized for their unjust behavior. The believers are given hope that they will one day prevail. As mentioned above, many of these verses were shared with the King of Abyssinia, a devout Christian, and influenced his decision to offer protection to the Muslim refugees at the time.

Surah Ta Ha was revealed at approximately the same time period. It is reported that Umar ibn Khattab read part of this chapter when he discovered his sister reading from the Quran and interrogated her about it. Against all odds, his heart softened and he embraced Islam. Most of the chapter is dedicated to the story of Prophet Musa (Moses), peace be upon him. The Arab tribes were familiar with and accepting of Moses as a prophet, and relating this story shows the continuity in Allah's message and methods of bringing guidance to His people. This chapter also emphasizes the importance of salaat (prayer) in strengthening the faith and hearts of believers.

Assalamulaykum Brothers,

So basically in my school (8th grade, U.S.) we are now taking sexual education, and when I looked it up, it said the 2 main things about why it is disliked is because it promotes zina and the person can be too young. So as for the first point, I checked the sheet they gave us, and on one of the pages it showed tips to help avoid problems, and one of them said wait till marriage. As for the second point, I'm 14, I think I'm at an age where I am mature enough, and honestly while we were learning it, all I kept thinking was Subhanallah, I was amazed how cool the human body was. So I don't think it will turn me away from Islam, just the opposite actually. But, next week we have to watch a movie called Nova: Life's greatest miracle. Basically it shows a woman giving birth. So I looked it up online, it said that as long as it is not just extra, if it is necessary for education, then it is permissible. Can someone clarify this for me. So if it is haram, I can sorta not watch it during the class. And of course the class is gender separated. And as for the Islamic limitations on this stuff, I know them, so that is not an issue.

Sorry if this is a bit akward, I thought it was necessary to ask though.

Yesterday something really great happened to me. I had some savings in my room, so I wanted to extract zakat from these savings. I went to the Bank to deposit the amount that I was about to giveaway and I also added a seventh of those savings to giveaway as sadaqah I really wanted that money, but I had faith that Allah would give me more than what I wanted. and once I returned home I opened The Quran and in the first page I opened at this verse was in it:

( Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned) 2:245

subhan Allah. I cried when I read it. it's as if Allah is talking with me and promises me that I would be rewarded. for Allah his great and mighty self to promise me directly like that it really made me happy. this is my first time giving zakat, so it encouraged me to do a lot more giveaways in the future ensha'Allah. I wanted to share my story to motivate you guys. thank you for reading.

From my perspective, I don't believe slavery is a just thing to take part in, especially sex slavery. And from what I've read, it seems that one of the ways to be free is to become Muslim (which is a form of forced conversion).

I am muslim, I love islam, but revisiting this topic makes me upset as I study more about my religion this ramadan.

And before anyone says "it was the norm in the time of the Prophet" which seems to be a common answer online, so was alcohol. So was idol worship, and so was burying female babies, all of which were outright banned in islam no questions asked.
