Why does it seem that the whole ummah are more concerned with whether or not you can see a woman’s hair than how much make up she’s wearing or tight clothes?

I’m a revert Alhamdulillah. I don’t wear a scarf on my head but I dress modestly - I don’t show my arms or chest or body shape etc. Alhamdulillah I pray, I learn Quran, I don’t listen to music, I try my best not to engage in anything inappropriate, I believe I treat people as best as I can, I spend my spare time learning new du’as. I am so grateful for Islam Alhamdulillah.

I just find it really strange how people view me as immodest/not religious enough, but view someone wearing a headscarf as modest and more religious, no matter what she’s doing or what other clothes she’s wearing.

I don’t know what I’m trying to ask but I just feel soooo disheartened and I don’t want to even tell any Muslims that I am a Muslim because all I get is - did your husband make you revert? (I don’t even have one lol) You don’t wear hijab? What’s your new name? (I don’t have one of these either) …surely there are 1000 things you could say before you say these things? Why are you so concerned and pressure me so much about a headscarf when my body is completely covered? Where does it say in Quran to cover my hair specifically? I feel I am trying my best but Muslims love to tell people how wrong they are all the time. Maybe you’re trying to help I don’t know.. but I feel it’s doing the opposite. I will never abandon my religion insha Allah but I do feel like staying away from other Muslims
