According to HMC, they're the only halal committee that follows all the rules pertaining of slaughter in Islam. I've searched up HMC, HFA, and everything in between, and realised that they all allow stunning except for HMC. There are some that even allow machine slaughter using tape recordings. In many cases it's been proven that stunning is known to kill the animal, especially chickens. A point was also put across asking "Do you honestly believe that an abattoir is both going to check every single stunned chicken to see if it's still alive AND is going to throw it away it's not? That's burned money."
Some people don't eat at places such as KFC or Nandos due to them using stunned chickens, but unless a butcher is HMC certified, their chickens will be stunned too.
So my question is this: Are most "halal" takeaways/butchers/restaurants actually haraam?
