Assalamaleikum, guys, I live in the US and cannot seem to find the prayer times. I am just starting and by searching all over the web and apps I discovered that the times are different on every site.

Where can I find the correct, true prayer times? Or are they not supposed to happen at the right and only time?

Confused, confused..

Hi great people .
i am student at university and i am very hardworking person in my major and knows a lot more than the term i am in , at the first term i told my classmates that we are a group and we must back each other up , this major is hard and its not something easy if you want to master , a lot agreed with me and through a time people were positive about this move in our class , but after a while when people saw that my projects turn out better and i was higher than them they start to disrespect me verbally on internet and in real life (but i gave them sources to study , help them at their issues with projects , talked to them and guided them ) some of those people didn't follow the disrespecting and they were thankful for the thing i was doing and appreciated that i am helping them ) (i am not looking after people saying good things to me because i help them) and that was ok with me this made me to separate people , i helped the ones which were good or nice or neutral but stopped helping the people which they disrespected me in any field , 2 terms have passed and i have encountered 2 new groups (some familiar faces among them) i am not sure i should start helping every one (casue Ali (als) saied that زكوة العلم نشره -

can you please guide me ?

Recently I've heard disturbing news that Shia Muslims are being picked up and disappearing from Dubai. I know someone who's aunt and two kids have stopped all contact from all family and friend which he discribed as "not normal" if anyone knows anything or if this is something I shouldnt be talking about let me know, it's just really scary and I don't want to get in trouble.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Ramatullah!

I am/was a traditionalist Roman Catholic, but I have recently been diving head first into islam. It was quite strange, but last week I just woke up one day and had an extreme urge to read the Qur'an and to learn about tawheed, combined with the realization that I had never properly examined the doctrine of the incarnation, and that it seemed to be a logical contradiction. After discovering how beautiful a book the Holy Qur'an was, I decided to start praying salah and continue learning about Islam and addressing my remaining concerns (mostly historical). The aforementioned concerns have been almost entirely dealt with, and I am nearly ready to take shahada, but there are a few things I'd like clarity on first so I know fully what I'm getting into.

1) I am currently married to a christian wife (half catholic half baptist... she doesn't really do dogma, or taking her faith seriously at all), who is in here third trimester of pregnancy. How does it work when a man converts while married, especially with a pregnant wife? Couldn't find anything online except for women.

2) The prohibition on images. I know that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that makers of images would be especially punished in the hellfire. After a lot of reading I'm still very unsure just how prohibited images are. Is it true that we are never allowed to have or make a picture of any living thing, or is the prohibition just related to making them, or is it only related to pictures that would lead to shirk, etc.

3) Likewise, my wife has tons of family pictures, watches tv, reads manga, draws occasionally, etc. If all images of living things are haram then how is it possible for me to live with her? She won't be willing to get rid of it I know.

4) Also, how should I dispose of all my christian imagery/icons/statuary? Am I allowed to give them to someone as a gift or should I just destroy them so as not to enable shirk? Likewise am I allowed to turn my rosaries into islamic prayer beads? What am I to do with my bibles?

5) Riba. This one is less of an issue as I was already avoiding all interest just in case I committed the mortal sin of usury (the church has been...notoriously poor on being clear what is and isn't usury), so it's less of an issue, but is all interest haram, period?

6) Eating Halal. I live in Alabama. The closest grocery stores that sell halal meat are 30 minutes or so away. The only restaurant with halal meat in my town is an american deli. Is this a legitimate reason to eat non-halal but also non-haram meat or should I go vegetarian when I eat out with relatives and when I cant get to the halal grocers?

7) Speaking of eating, am I allowed to eat with kafirs? Like my family? I know there are some rules about eating with non-muslims but I couldn't figure out clearly what they were.

8) When my son is born will he have to be circumcised? I had pushed for partial circumcision up til now, but am I obligated to go all the way?

That should cover it. Thank all of you for your help in advance, and may Allah swt the Most Merciful and Gracious grant you all peace!

Assalamoalikum brothers and sisters.

so I’ve noticed how a lot of people (my family members, the imams, other brother/sisters) occasionally cry during prayer or dua or recitation. I personally have only done so once and it was because I was young and saw my dad crying.

I think in most cases it happens when you regret your sins.

I don’t get it tho, isn’t Islam suppose to be a light of hope rather than a means of regret, self-hate and self-pity? Islam should improve our moods rather than making them go downhill. Islam hasn’t made me cry or worry, it’s always made me hopeful for a better tomorrow.

What are your thoughts on this?

Also disclaimer: I’m not judging anyone, I just find it odd.

Obviously the Quran, but I mean something more like this. I have seen protestant Christian books, like this "Christian Charm School" book for girls. Are there similar Islamic books or resources?

Coconut

Tower 28 Coconut ShineOn Milky Jelly Lip GlossTower 28 Coconut ShineOn Milky Jelly Lip Gloss ($14.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a brighter, peony pink with moderate, warm undertones and a milky, cream finish with moderate shine. It had semi-sheer color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly on my lips, though there was a smidgen of product that settled into my lip lines–it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance.

The texture was smooth, more like a gel-like cream, so it had substance and some thickness but it wasn’t heavy or tacky. It wore well for two hours and felt hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

$14.00/0.13 oz. - $107.69 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have the "shine of a gloss" with the "comfort of a balm" and a "wash of milky color." It has a smooth, non-sticky texture that has more of a cream-gel like feel, as there was a more substantial, slightly thicker consistency but it wasn't heavy to wear.

The coverage ranged from semi-sheer to medium, but the upside was that they went on evenly and comfortably. Most of the shades seemed to soften my lip lines rather than settle into them, which can be an issue with milkier finishes.

They lasted between two and three hours and were hydrating over time. It had a creamy, sweet and lightly fruity scent--almost reminded me of salt water taffy in some sort of fruit flavor.

Oat

Tower 28 Oat ShineOn Milky Jelly Lip GlossTower 28 Oat ShineOn Milky Jelly Lip Gloss ($14.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a medium-dark, pink-peach with moderate, warm undertones and a milky, cream finish with moderate shine. It had semi-sheer color payoff in a single stroke, which applied fairly evenly but settled noticeably into my lip lines. It was the lightest and milkiest shade in the range that I tried, and it applied the least-flattering (though not a total surprise).

The gloss had a smooth, lightweight consistency that was slightly thicker (but not tacky or goopy!), so it felt plush and comfortable while on. It stayed on well for two hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Assalamu alaykum

Though I was born to a Muslim family, I left Islam for a little over a year. I came back about a month ago because I could never shake Islam out of me. I came back on a "condition," but that's between me and my Lord. Anyway, I don't think I have faith.

I don't fear Allah much. I fear Him enough to pray and fast, but not enough where I tremble if I commit a sin or even regret it that much tbh. I don't have a love for Him or His Messenger saws. I regard Allah positively but I don't think it's overwhelming love. I regard the Nabi saws neutrally. Yes, I read the Quran and seerah. I am aware that soon no one will intercede on my behalf except Muhammad saws. I know he brought the truth, which includes belief in jannah and nar. I still don't feel much. I also just don't like Islam. I don't want to live this life, I want to be free and to believe whatever I want. But I still think Islam is the truth. I read a hadith -- which I can't remember right now -- that went like: The Prophet saws told a man to submit to Islam, and the man said "I find that I don't like it," to which the Nabi saws said "Submit, even if you don't like it." I don't know if it's saheeh, but I relate to the contents so much.

When I praise and thank Allah, and when I send peace and blessings onto Muhammad saws, it feels like lip-service. I just say them, but I don't feel them. I don't feel grateful or in awe at creation. I have tried to imagine my life without some things (a house, eyesight, hearing, etc), but I don't feel grateful for having these things. I just feel like I'm wading through life.

Two days ago, I cut myself on accident and I woke up with a lot of pain and the cut felt warm. I thought I had a fever, which made start worrying that it was infected and I would die of sepsis. I started to think about death, and I realized my answers to "Who is your Lord/Book/Prophet?" would be "I think Allah/Quran/Muhammad, but I'm not sure." This didn't cause panic in me, just an acceptance that I lack faith.

I don't know what I'm asking for. I think Islam is the truth but I don't think I have faith.

I’ve been muslim for 10 years and the in the last 2 years I’ve been serious about learning the Quran. I’ve since completed a 5 level online class that focused on tajwid and memorizing. I’ve memorized like 26 surahs and my goal is to be a hafiz. However I still struggle when I read the Quran and I sometimes stumble over words. I’m doing it a lot less than I was and I’m getting through a page quicker than I used to but I’m still struggling more than I want to.

I know about this Hadith saying that one who struggles will get double the rewards. Is it strange that I don’t want double the rewards. I would rather be able to read it without struggling. That would be a much bigger reward for me. Is my outlook weird?

Hybrid

Lethal Cosmetics Hybrid Magnetic Face Powder (Blush) ($14.00 for 0.18 oz.) is a darker lavender with subtle, cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. The powder took on a softer, more natural matte finish–so not shimmery or shiny but not totally flat–that was kinder to skin texture and seemed to make the product easier to blend out overall.

It had buildable pigmentation from medium to opaque (two to three layers) with a smooth, more velvety texture that wasn’t too dense nor too softly-pressed into the pan. It lasted well for eight hours before fading slightly.

FURTHER READING: Formula Overview for details on general performance and characteristics (like scent).

Formula Overview

$14.00/0.18 oz. - $77.78 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to blend "effortlessly" and "build" to a "luminous matte" finish and "any intensity with ease." In general, they had medium, buildable coverage that easily built up to mostly opaque to opaque coverage.

Per the brand, they recommend "tapping" rather than swirling one's brush, which I'd agree with for picking up more buildable pigment--swirling or heavier motions could yield more opaque coverage in one go (which could be desired).

The texture was moderately dense, smooth, and not powdery nor too firmly-pressed into the pan, so the product picked up well with more feathery brushes as well as denser brushes.

As I applied the powder and buffed it into my skin, they had a more semi-matte to natural matte finish--not flat or dry but not overly shimmery either. They looked more "melted" on my skin, which gave them a better and more flattering finish applied. They lasted between eight and nine hours on me before fading visibly.
