best shopping apps for android
Shopping online is pretty much the way to shop these days. Brick and mortar stores are fun, but at the end of the day, the ability to pick up your mobile device and search for stuff online is just infinitely more convenient. There are a ton of ways and apps you can use to shop for stuff on your mobile device. Here are the best shopping apps for Android. Please note, all shopping apps are free to download unless otherwise specified.

Amazon Shopping

Price: Free / $119.99 per year

No shopping apps list would be complete without Amazon. It’s the proverbial mega-mall of the Internet and millions of people use it every year. You can find practically any kind of product you can think of and the addition of things like Amazon Pantry even let you shop for food and beverage items. They also have things like Lightning Deals and Deals of the Day where you can find stuff on the cheap if you keep up on it. It’s quick, simple, and easy to understand. The Amazon Prime membership for $119.99 per year adds free one, two, and same day shipping on select items and a ton of other features.

AliExpress

Price: Free

AliExpress is an entertaining option for shoppers. It’s a Chinese shopping app owned by Alibaba and it’s like a mix between Amazon and eBay. It feels like Amazon when you shop around on it, but it’s a conglomeration of small businesses selling you stuff much like eBay. This is an excellent wildcard app because you can find all kinds of weird stuff here that you might not find on other websites. Most stuff takes a while to ship, though, so prepare yourself for that.

Chewy

Price: Free

Chewy is like Amazon but for pets. You can find all kinds of stuff there, including animal food, treats, toys, enclosures (cages and such), accessories, hygiene products, and a lot more. The app is easy enough to navigate and Chewy has tons of specials and sales basically constantly. Additionally, they ship quickly. We particularly like the free 1-2 day shipping on orders over $49 that Chewy does. However, we do recommend not trying it on a Friday or Saturday because weekends make all deliveries slower. In any case, basically anyone with a pet should try this out. The only caveat is the app compatibility as it is sometimes not compatible with popular devices like the Galaxy S20+.

Craigslist

Price: Free / Varies

Craigslist is as good spot for those diamond in the rough purchases. You can find almost anything from cars to houses, random furniture, electronics, and all kinds of other stuff. It’s a bit less secure than other shopping apps. However, a public meeting spot and proper vetting usually negates the problems. Craigslist only recently launched an official app, but it is already better than most of its competitors. Still, there are some third party options if you want to go that route.

eBay

Price: Free

eBay is another ubiquitous name in online shopping. It’s been around forever and everyone knows what it is. The app is pretty decent and lets you do pretty much everything you can do on the website including bidding, searching, purchasing, and checking on items that you’re selling. You can find some great stuff here for good prices if you’re patient enough. It may not be an every day kind of app like Amazon but it’s still fun to browse to see what you might find. It’s one of those shopping apps that’s always fun to just browse.

Etsy

Price: Free

Etsy is kind of like the flea market of the Internet for indie artists and designers. There are well over ten million items from 800,000 sellers. You’ll no doubt find some truly unique, one of a kind stuff on Etsy and a good percentage of them are produced on limited runs. The app allows you to explore and buy items as well as manage your shop if you’re a seller. It also comes with Google Wallet and PayPal support for easier check outs and you can find upcoming events from sellers in your area for exclusive items. It’s one of the more unique shopping apps because many things there are one-of-a-kind.

Facebook Marketplace

Price: Free

Facebook’s app is horrible. However, the marketplace is one of their better ideas. You can surf for things on sale by other people in your general area. There are all kinds of things there. You can find cars, video games, cloths, or whatever you want. It is a lot like Craigslist. Most of the stuff is someone else’s treasure. However, you can find something awesome there on occasion. Many people already have Facebook. You might as well take advantage of the service, right? It’s one of the better shopping apps for localized stuff.

Google Shopping

Price: Free

Google Shopping (formerly Google Express) combines a lot of shopping experiences into a single app. You can find stuff from basically any retailer on the Internet. That includes popular sites like Target and Best Buy along with many others. It’s also a good app for price comparisons, finding various deals, Google Assistant support, and it eventually gives you recommendations based on your shopping habits. There are also shortcuts for reordering things and faster checkouts. It’s honestly a lot better than it used to be and it’s easily accessible in Google Search as well.

Instacart or Postmates

Price: Free

Instacart and Postmates are part of a new wave of shopping apps. You order stuff from the app and someone brings it directly to your door immediately. Both apps do different things. Instacart is mostly for grocery shopping. You order food, someone shops it up for you, and delivers it to your door. Postmates delivers just about anything from just about anywhere. Thus, you can shop local places from the comfort of your own home and someone else does the driving. Both apps are free. However, each delivery comes with a delivery charge and, of course, you have to pay for whatever items you buy.

Jet

Price: Free

Jet is a unique shopping app that lets you shop for various things and get savings when you buy certain items together. It has a ton of stuff for sale so it shouldn’t be hard to find what you’re looking for. You’ll also get free shipping once your order amount gets high enough and you’ll also get Android Pay support, one-click re-ordering, and some odd, but unique tactics like giving you the opportunity to waive return rights in order to save a bit more money. It looks like fun and it’s worth a shot.

Krazy Coupon Lady

Price: Free

Krazy Coupon Lady is definitely among the best shopping apps. It’s not for your general string of merchandise, though. This one has coupons for everywhere, including stores like Walmart, Target, CVS, Wahgreens, and others. It also surfs coupons from Coupons.com, Ibotta, and Checkout 51. It even has tutorials and videos that teach you how to coupon properly. It’s not a traditional shopping app, but we like to think outside of the box here. It’s definitely useful for those who prefer to shop in brick-and-mortar stores.

Newegg Mobile

Price: Free

Newegg is one of the best shopping apps for electronics. You can find all kinds of stuff here. That includes individual components, consumer products, computers, games, office, software, and more. It even has stuff like vacuum cleaners and watches. The company competes directly with brick-and-mortar stores like Best Buy. It does so quite well. Shipping is generally good and the customer service is highly regarded. The Premier account costs $49.99 per year. It’s kind of like their version of Amazon Prime. They also accept PayPal.

RetailMeNot

Price: Free

RetailMeNot is one of the most popular coupon apps out there. It features coupons for all kinds of stuff. That includes fashion, beauty products, food delivery, vacation, home and garden, and a lot more. Most coupons are for recognized brands such as JCPenney, Kohl’s, and even Amazon. You can’t buy stuff from the app itself. However, a timely coupon can get you in the car on your way to go buy stuff. It also features a GPS feature that’ll try to show you coupons for places nearby.

RetailMeNot screenshot 2020

Niche sites, communities, and forums

Price: Free

Niche sites, forums, and various communities are great for shopping. There are so many examples that we can’t even come close to listing them all. Swappa, for instance, is better for used phones than even eBay. Head-Fi forum members can buy expensive headphones from one another. The Hunt works great for fashion (women’s fashion, at least). Drop.com is a massively popular site for all kinds of stuff. There are a bunch of for sale subreddits on Reddit as well. These sites, forums, and apps exist all over the Internet. It may take some time to find them. However, you can usually find some pretty awesome deals on stuff you like.

Swappa - best shopping apps

Brick-and-mortar shopping apps

Price: Free

Brick-and-mortar stores and making a larger push toward mobile shopping apps. This is to compete with the big dogs like Amazon and others. There are tons of options out there, including Target, Best Buy, Walmart, and other retail stores. You can even find smaller specialty store apps like Gamestop, individual brand shops like Abercrombie and Fitch, and many others. Even utilitarian stores like Auto Zone and Home Depot have official apps you can shop with. They won’t have a selection like the mega-stores such as Amazon, but the selection is hyper individualized to that store’s niche. Plus, most have the ability to ship to a store (or pick up from a store) so you can still support your local stores without having to actually shop there. We strongly recommend these options during the holidays and during Black Friday to avoid the rushes.

This is the featured image for the best french learning apps for android
French is a beautiful language. Its also a popular language. There are a variety of apps that teach French. In-person classes are still usually more effective. However, don’t underestimate the value of having a tutor in your pocket at all times. It really does help a lot. For the time being, there isn’t a lot happening in the world of learning French on Android so you may be familiar with most of these names. Let’s take a look at the best French learning apps for Android!

Busuu

Price: Free / $69.99 per year

Busuu is one of the most popular language learning apps. It supports a lot of languages, including French. Busuu uses a lot of learning methods. That includes vocabulary and grammar lessons, audio dialog, games, quizzes, and more. As you learn, you can help others who are just starting out. That means there are people to help you as well. There is a method to the madness, though. With so many ways to learn, chances are that at least one of them should resonate well with you. Busuu costs $69.99 per year if you want every available feature.

Duolingo

Price: Free / $9.99 per month

Duolingo is one of the most popular French learning apps on any mobile platform. It features a bunch of languages (including French), simple, effective, and relatively fun for an educational app. The app claims that 34 hours in Duolingo is equal to one semester at a university-level class. There are games, simple vocabulary lessons, aural lessons, and more. It also rewards users with daily streaks for their commitment. It’s completely free to use but you can get some extra features for $9.99 per month if you really want to.

Drops: Learn French

Price: Free / Up to $7.49 per month / $48.99 per year / $109.99 once

Drops is an up-and-coming language learning app with a bunch of languages. French happens to be one of them. Drops uses a somewhat modern learning approach. You learn in five minute sessions with a game style similar to Duolingo. Some other features include visual learning, spelling, and vocabulary lessons. It tries to lower the focus on grammar because you tend to pick it up over time. The short sessions help create the habit of learning instead of forcing you to sit down and learn over hours and hours of study. It’s a neat concept and people seem to enjoy it quite a bit.

Learn French Offline

Price: Free / $1.49

Learn French Offline lets you learn French without an Internet connection. It’s not nearly as good as some others on this list. However, it works great as a simple phrasebook with audio pronunciations. The app promotes learning by phrases rather than by individual words. It has a variety of words, including most common phrases. This one isn’t expensive either at $1.49 for the premium verison. We also recommend this one as a secondary app to something a little more powerful like Duolingo or Memrise.

Learn French Offline free

Memrise

Price: Free / $9 per month / $59.99 per year

Memrise is one of the biggest, most successful, most popular, and most powerful language learning apps. It supports French, of course. There are a bunch of features, including an offline mode, a chat bot that helps with conversational French, and more. It uses a broad approach with games, lessons, vocabulary, grammar, and interaction with real people. That’s probably why it’s so popular. The free version gives you some features, but the subscription method is the most ideal experience.

Mondly

Price: Free / $9.99 per month / $47.99 per year

Mondly is another huge language learning app with 29 languages and counting. That does include French. It uses similar methods as Memrise and other large scale language learning apps. It has games, lessons, vocabulary, phrases, grammar, audio from native speakers, and more. Mondly also customizes courses for your style of learning. The app has a free version. The subscription not only unlocks all of the features, but it does so for every language. It’s a little bit overkill if you only want French, though.

Quizlet

Price: Free / $15 per year

Quizlet is an app with flashcards. Here’s how it works. You make various sets of digital flashcards. They are usable for stuff like math, science, spelling, and, of course, learning languages like French. The flashcards have a bunch of customization options. You can actually make some good looking cards. Additionally, you can download packs of cards that others made. There are a bunch for French as well. This one is useful for multiple subjects and $15 per year isn’t half bad in terms of price. This would work wonderfully as a secondary study app.

Rosetta Stone

Price: Free / $199+ per year

Rosetta Stone is a popular name in language learning. It uses its own method for language learning. The method is fairly effective and includes memorization, grammar lessons, vocabulary, phrase learning, and more. It focuses mostly on conversational learning rather than pure vocabulary. It’s a tried and true method. However, it’s also a very expensive method. Yearly subscriptions are among the most expensive in this class. It’s better than the pay-once desktop version, though.

Simply Learn French

Price: Free / Wp to $4.99

Simply Learn French by Senya is a simpler, easier language learning app. It features over 300 phrases and words with audio pronunciations. You also get quizzes and flashcards for easier study. The app can even slow down audio so you can hear it better. This is another secondary app for learning French. It definitely only gets you so far as an advanced phrasebook of sorts. Thankfully, its price is a single purchase. There is no subscription with this one. We don’t recommend this one by itself, though. This works well with apps like Duolingo for a good one-two combo of French learning goodness.

simply learn french - best french learning apps

Tandem and HelloTalk

Price: Free / $6.99 per month / $34.99 per year

Tandom is a unique app for learning French. It works a lot like HelloTalk. You find people who speak the language you want to learn and they help teach you. In turn, you help them learn the language that you speak. That includes audio calls, video calls, text chats, audio messages, picture messages, and more. Both HelloTalk and Tandem work quite well. Whether one is better than the other is a matter of opinion, mostly. They both do the same thing in practice.

Here is the article he wrote where he exposed her. He got kicked out of her events for merely questioning why she supports genocides against India's Muslim and Christian populations.

It is an interesting read. What is disheartening is how liberals seem to be supporting her whilst full well knowing how much of a religious nutjob she is. She is bankrolled by India's version of the KKK, who call themselves the RSS (note that these are the same guys who killed Ghandi and were declared as terrorists by India itself several times)

Hi! I posted on here before about not being religious at all until my father passed away. I’ve been trying to read, understand, and memorize duas. And I’ve been reading an English version of the Quran. After my father’s death, I’ve been searching up a lot on afterlife. But every time I do (especially on Reddit) there are many atheists or non-believers who scoff at the idea of an after-life, insists there’s nothing, or insults religions in general. To be honest, it makes me really depressed especially when they say there’s no scientific evidence of Allah or the after-life. At times, I feel like I’m inclined to believe them but I also really want to hold on to my beliefs and hopes.

I was never really religious before so at the moment my faith is still weak and it’s being shaken easily. But I am really doing my best to learn more about Islam and religion in general. I’m doing my best to pray every night, to memorize duos, and I will learn how to do Namaaz too.

I just feel so guilty. Am I using religion just for hope and comfort? Do I truly believe in Allah and the after-life? Am I such a bad person for doubting myself and my beliefs? I just feel so lost and confused. I feel like I’m such a selfish person and terrible for questioning everything especially because i know Allah has helped me a lot once I turned to my religion. My anxiety and panic attacks have decreased a lot. And it’s helping me shape up to be a much better person than before. So why do I still have doubts in my heart? Why do I get influenced so easily by nay-sayers? I asked for Allah’s forgiveness for the doubts I’m having at the moment and I hope to be guided on the right path. I know this post might seem somewhat contradictory. I guess I’m still in the midst of figuring out myself.

This will be a pretty controversial post but here I go.

I don't mind most people regardless of religion, race and ethnicity. However, I am racist. There is one nationality that I really dislike and they represent roughly 20% of humanity: Indians.

Of course, I have no issues with the Muslims from there as we are brothers in faith and they have treated me nicely for the most part; however they represent just 15% of India's population.

It wasn't always like that. I generally had no problems with Indians until roughly 3-4 years ago. I always thought we were pretty similar and only a small border and religion differentiated us. Maybe most of them had become radicalized due to Modi's politics, but that to me isn't a good enough reason to have any sort of love for them.

Whenever there is an apolitical video about Islam and Bangladesh, I always see a bunch of Indians in the comment section making nasty comments about my religion and my nationality/ethnicity (2 elements that are huge parts of my identity) even though it had nothing to do with India. It's as if they have an unhealthy obsession with us. On top of that, Bangladeshis, in recent years, have become scapegoats for all of India's problems, according to their politicians, media and their people.

In addition to all of that, they belittle people with darker skin, poor people and are very arrogant people in general.

Why should I have any love for people from a culture that has a mentality that isn't in accordance to my personal and religious values and that despises me for being from a certain religion and ethnicity?

S. Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi

Zul-Qarnain was a mighty emperor and the victor of nations, but his conquests never filled him with conceit. He never said: I have been given it only on account of knowledge I posses; on the contrary, he ascribed his achievements to God. He did not even brag of the impregnability of the barrier constructed by him. Like a true believer in God and the Hereafter he laid more stress on the help and grace of God.

"He said: This is a mercy from my Lord; but when the promises of my Lord cometh to pass, He will lay it low, for the promise of my Lord is true." (Al-Kahf: 98)

And this is the attitude of a true believer and a man of God. He never forgets his Lord - not even when he is crowned with the most brilliant victories, nor when he gains control over gigantic resources and the sinews of earthly power. He turns his attention to God in the hour of triumphant success and remembers the ultimate end, when he would crumble into dust and be raised again; he fearfully trembles with the awe of God; acknowledges his own weakness; offers solace and mercy to the suffering humanity; preserves truth and justice; and directs his incessant endeavor to serve his fellow beings. Creates a just and virtuous social order, brings out the ignorant from the dark alley of godlessness and crass materialism to the sunshine of divine light and natural religion. This was the noble and virtuous path trodden by Soloman and Zul-Qarnain, by the rightly-guided Caliphs and the impeccable leaders of Islam during their own times in different parts of the world.

Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters! I just want to share what I went through today. I hope whatever I’m sharing here will be beneficial for all of us. Ameen..

I have been struggling a lot with self confidence for the past few months. I never felt that I was good enough for whatever I want to achieve. I even spent most of this week just looking at videos on “how to be smarter”. I felt like whatever I try I will never be good enough.

I woke up this morning feeling really tired and defeated. My tiredness made me sleep through fajr and I also missed the eid prayer. I felt a bit cut off from eid actually, because I live far away from my family and was quite sad because I couldn’t see them today due to Covid restrictions.

It was until just about an hour ago that my day went from “just another day” to a full breakdown. I got a reply from a company saying I passed the online test that I attempted a couple of days ago and I am now going to the next stage - which is the interview.

Allahu akbar. Allahu akbar. Allahu akbar. I cried like a baby.

Then and there I realised Allah is Ar Rahman and Ar Raheem. In what possibly could’ve been my below average day, He showed me that all of those negative thoughts came from myself! He cheered me up when I needed it the most, and when there was nothing that could cheer me up. It’s not even the job acceptance, but Allah showed me that I am good enough for the things that I doubted myself in.

I prostrated and said repeatedly “Allah, please keep loving to me for the rest of my life. I do not ever want to live without your love.” If this is just a small taste of Allah’s love for someone who every now and then needs an emaan booster, I could only dream of what it feels like to be the ones who feels Allah’s love every single second.

Also of course it’s my cake day! Not that it means much but I am sure that Allah is the best at entertaining His servants and He knows best about the things that amuse me :D

I repent to Allah for all the sins that I have done and I hope today Allah forgives all your sins and gives you happiness as well my dear brothers and sisters... Eid mubarak everyone!!!
