Salam alaikum,I am working on a project about Indian artifacts in the United Kingdom. Many of these belonged to Muslim kings. I am an artist and I am sort of creating my own replicas of stolen items. I am writing this post because I realize some of the items I am interested in have religious calligraphy in Persian on them (see image for an example of a sword). I should also say that I myself am not Muslim and I can't read Persian. I am wondering how to best be respectful while replicating these objects. Would it be best to omit the calligraphy entirely in my creations? Or sort of blur them? I wonder if anyone in this group can guide me. Thank you for your understanding. [link] [comments] |
