Salaam all,

Was on a work call with my manager and others (all non-Muslims) and we were discussing various parts of a website.

Question arose on why a certain section is appearing in multiple parts of the website. As my manager was explaining the rationale, he said, "Repetition doesn't dilute the prayer."

It got me thinking that he's right, in that the more you pray and ask for something from Allah, the better. And asking Allah for something 10 times doesn't make it any less valuable than only asking Allah once - in fact, it can be even more valuable.

InshaAllah may we all continue to pray regularly and ask Allah for good things in this life and the Hereafter, while always being grateful.

Support with the Quran

Good evening everyone.

Abit of backstory, I work in the community I am a family practitioner, I support families with the development of their children with regards to reviews and in house support / advice.

If you have children that are 3+ you may recall meeting with a practitioner to discuss the development of child’s gross motor / fine motor and so forth, I see a lot of diverse families of all backgrounds, but definitely a lot of Muslim families.

Anyway, I’m always open to learning about others beliefs and cultures and recently I’ve been watching a lot of shorts on YouTube / tiktok regarding Islamic faith, I decided to buy an English translated Quran.

Now I don’t know if I was incredibly naive here and please tell me if I am, but I’m finding it really difficult to work with the layout and absorb it. This will be my first religious book so maybe it’s just the layout of the text & the small numbers that refer to translations / meanings but it is totally throwing me, I feel like I’m reading one sentence then flicking through pages looking for the reference points, or I find I’m confused with the message.

I’d really appreciate any tips or advice!

Did I jump straight into the deep end? My goal is the understand people better and create my own opinions on faith

The formula is supposed to be "long-lasting, rich, and creamy" with "immediate full color pay-off" that is "extremely easy to use and to blend." There is also a built-in sharpener. They are a cross between a more traditional eye crayon and an eyeliner, so the point and thickness of the pencil was smaller and finer than a crayon but more substantial than an eyeliner.

They had a consistency that was smooth, comfortable, and creamy, which ensured they applied fluidly across skin and the curvature of the lid without dragging or pulling on skin. It also resulted in more even coverage for most shades, and the coverage was typically semi-opaque to opaque and buildable.

The formula was blendable initially but was still on the quicker side to dry down--more like an eyeliner than a cream eyeshadow in that respect--but by working one eye at a time and blending as it was applied, a more diffused edge was doable. Most shades wore well for eight to nine hours before thinning/fading as eyeliner or creasing as eyeshadow.

i need advice from my muslim brothers and sisters please

for context i’m 19f i’m pakistani but have lived in the states my whole life. theres been issues going on with my parents and bc my parents are separating my mom thinks my cousin is the only guy thats going to take care of my mom in the future and provide for both of us. and that any other guy wouldnt tolerate my mom living with me.

i dont want to marry my cousin but she guilt trips me and tells me i’m the worst daughter ever and i’m just gonna put her in a nursing home and just overall makes me feel horrible. also only 19!! i wanna accomplish my dreams and goals not marry my cousin.

also it’s necessary to mention that my grandparents are cousins, my parents are cousins and his (my cousin’s) parents are also cousins. so if theres any medical professionals that can tell me the risks and birth defects that could happen that i could tell my mom about that would be great.

What inspires You to be a Muslim?

Hello everyone! I’m currently reading the Quran, was raised Catholic and with that got an extremely biased view on Islam. An American forced view that’s ignorant of the truth of Islam, if that makes sense.

My father was a member of the Nation of Islam, so my only ties to the religion are that, and if you know the NOI, you know that’s not the most holistic view.

I ask you, what inspires YOU to be a Muslim? We live in a world in which the Western media is constantly attacking the religion and it’s practitioners, but I’ve personally had many Strict practicing Muslim friends over the years, and my own view is more than tolerant.

From what I read, there’s much to gain from even reading, and I’m curious: outside of familial obligation, what keeps you in the faith?

Honestly, with my religious upbringing, along with mixed heritage I combine beliefs into my own working view, so I don’t want to come off as a convert. I do have all respect for you here, and before I visit any Muslim countries, I want to know how it impacts your daily life

REFY Onyx Cream Bronzer ($26.00 for 0.29 oz.) is a deeper, red-toned brown with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation, so it was higher coverage than marketed and needed to be used with a lighter-hand to achieve a sheerer effect, which was definitely possible.

The texture was moderately emollient, lightly tacky but very quick to dry down; I had to work speedily to apply and spread out the product, but it was a challenge to get a really even, smooth application of product, especially on top of foundation as it was more prone to lifting up base products than ideal. I’d recommend using a brush to diffuse/spread the product out and just using as little as possible and adding more as one spread out the product as it was harder to blend than just apply in smaller areas overall. This shade stayed on well for seven hours before fading visibly.

The formula is supposed to have a "dewy, velvety finish" with "buildable" coverage. It had a more traditionally cream-like feel; emollient, lightweight, and thin with a lot of slip but didn't feel tacky. It dried down more than anticipated, so it had more of a natural matte finish than dewy/cream-like overall.

The pigmentation was more semi-opaque in a single layer, but it was prone to sheering out so the end result was truer to the marketing: buildable. I had issues with the product applying evenly, so it wasn't the most foolproof formula for me to wear. Some of the sheerness made the hyperpigmentation marks I have on my cheeks come through more noticeably, so face swatches may make the product appear patchier than actually was, though there was definitely some unevenness owing solely to the product.

The formula played decently with base products, like foundation, but there were times where it seemed more prone to moving around the base products, so it did take some learning and care to layer the cream bronzers on top of foundation if desired.

They wore between six and seven hours on me before fading noticeably.
