..until I fully understand that the reason we sometimes feel this way is because we restrict ourselves into thinking that we live a short life and the life here on earth is very precious.

It is not. The life here is a very, very short one. Most live less than a century. Now compare this to eternity. Forever. What is 80 years (or 40 years if you die young) compared to living thousands and thousands of years in Jannah. The life here on earth won't even make up 0.1%. If it's a Harry Potter book, jt won't even cover one page.

Jannah is real. A place where there's zero worries about paying your bills on time, about saving up to buy that brand new car you'd been eyeing for, to fear about being bullied or oppressed, or getting seriously sick over some disease. Really think about it.

Allah SWT has promised us that the life here is just temporary. It is considered just an illusion. We, as Muslims know this, but many of us don't really think deeply and reflect on it.

We see our loved ones leave us, sometimes die in a very sudden and brutal way such as dying of a terminal illness or being in an accident, and sometimes even see people being borned handicapped. We get sad, and at times angry at Allah SWT. Those who've died, we perceived them as dead and gone. That there's no justice or fairness at all.

They're not gone. They have just moved on to another part of a life, an InshaAllah to a much, much better place. Allah SWT is just and fair. Its us, living here, disillusioned into thinking we're the lucky ones because we're alive. We most likely aren't. We are the ones who are still facing the trials and tribulations and are still being tested. Still on earth resisting from committing sins and trying so very hard to do good deeds. Those who have died, they're being relieved from all these.

87:16

بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا

But you prefer the worldly life,

87:17

وَٱلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ

While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

Although we can find God by reflecting upon natural phenomena, we need a Prophet to learn why we were created, where we came from, where we are going, and how to worship our Creator properly. Prophets guided people, through personal conduct and the heavenly religions they conveyed, to develop their inborn capacities and directed them toward the purpose of their creation. Had it not been for them, humanity would have been left to decay. As humanity needs social justice as much as it needs private inner peace, the Prophets taught the laws of life and established the rules for a perfect social life based on justice. Thus, Prophets were sent throughout history and whenever humanity would fall into darkness, God would send another one to enlighten them again. This continued until the coming of the Last Prophet.

I'm from a country where such law exist. Not that it matters to me, but non-Muslims in my country thinks it's repressive because they need to convert and their children have no choice to leave Islam once they grow up. Some of them choose to marry a Muslim but both are not really practising.

I went for my first hijama session today and it was great! I got told that my body is inflamed (which I don’t doubt) because my blood was bubbling up.

I am interested in learning more about some of the other signs of blood analysis or things to look out during hijama that can tell important things about our health

Hi /r/islam, I'm struggling a bit.

While I was in college, one of my good friends was a girl, we meet each other while we were both studying IT and were part of a larger friend group of guys and girls who studied together.

In June she made the decision to convert to Islam and become a Muslim. We all supported her and told her that she would always be welcome, etc. Over time she's gotten more religious and a few weeks ago in October she started covering her hair.

This morning when I woke up I had a notification on my phone that she had unfriended me on Facebook and the other social media apps we use, and she set her profile to private. She also left our group chat. I was a bit confused and worried because I didn't know why.

I just talked with another friend who spoke to her, and she messaged me and we talked for a little while. Apparently she wants to avoid "mixed gender interactions" and she said that Islam says that women and men should avoid casual talks with each other to avoid emotional feelings developing. When I asked how that would work with us being friends she kind of paused for a moment and said, "yeah, it doesn't really work" and she said we should "go our separate ways". I told her that that was hard for me to hear because we've been friends for years, and this was her reply to me:

u/Top_Cartographer_786, I know this is kind of tough because we've known each other for a while and I've enjoyed being your friend a lot! But since I've become Muslim I've started seeing things differently. I think girls and guys being friends can lead to unfortunate things happening and I think it's just better if we avoid it. Actually I think this will be a good thing for you too even tho you dont know it yet. I actually think it's good for guys not to have casual hangouts or chats with girls, this way you can be 100% focused on your GF! Anyways I hope this explains things, if you need anything you can message me but please keep it focused, no casual chats

I honestly don't know what to make of this. Can someone help me please?

EDIT: of course I intend to respect her decision, I am just a little bit surprised and shocked because she has been a part of our group of friends for years.

EDIT 2: you guys are right, "ghosting" is the wrong word but i can't edit the title

This is not a comment on how things are going now, it is going fine, or if mods are doing bad. Mods have done great here and are doing their best at pushing it out, but I hope that it remains that way. When I look at the christian sub, I see a lot of doubtful christians asking questions of which are answered by agenda driven atheists and agnostics seeking to confuse them. This in terms just drive them away from the faith, now these might just be a handful of people, but even a handful of people, are a handful of souls. Now I do not care that much about christianity nor their own faith, but I hope and sincerely wish that we would never allow that to transpire here.

This sub is for muslims and for non muslims to ask questions, the people answering those should be muslim and remain that way. I hope that the mods keep this sub from influence of agenda driven atheists and other religious affilitaties.

May allah bless this community and guide us all to a better future.

Hello,

I am new to Islam, and learning more and more slowly and I’ve come across something in my studies that concerns me deeply. And forgive me if my vocabulary is bad, I’m learning everything in English because I’m bad with other languages.

So this thing with adoption. If you are adopted as a baby and your adoptive mother breast feeds you, you become her child, and by association, her husband is now your father.

Here’s the issue. I was adopted when I was two weeks old by an older couple. My mother was too old to produce milk, and therefor I wasn’t breastfed. In fact I was never once breastfed by anyone. I was ONLY every given formula. Not even someone else’s breast milk in a bottle. I’m motherless and milk-motherless So because my mother never breastfed me, does that mean my father of 26 years isn’t actually my father? Do I have to wear a hijab around him? I find this troubling, I can’t stop thinking about it. I don’t want to be made into a parent less child in my religion. I don’t want him to not be my father, and I don’t want to cover in front of him like he didn’t raise me.

All a Flutter

ColourPop All a Flutter 5-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($10.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a new, coral-themed color story that included two shimmery shades paired with three matte shades. I liked the mix of depth and undertone in the palette–though it is a little monochromatic–and felt like it came together cohesively without muddying. The eyeshadows were pigmented, blendable, and wore around eight hours on me.

This palette is one of five in a holiday vault, though ColourPop said they would be available individually when I asked, but they have not appeared individually on the site. It’s not realistic for me to review it as a set (takes much longer, but I also started testing them across sets already, and the system is better setup for a palette, not five palettes within a set, for readability!), so I decided to review them individually still.

Delicate

Delicate is a pale yellow with iridescent pink and silver sparkle throughout. It had a thicker, creamier consistency that was somewhat dense, and while it was workable with a dry brush, it was more prone to fallout. The product applied particularly smoothly with a fingertip. This shade had full color payoff that wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

It was richly pigmented with a smooth, moderately dense texture that wasn’t overly firm, so it was easy to use wet or dry. There were signs of fading present after eight hours of wear.

As-salamu alaykum everyone,

Recently I have been somewhat curious as to what Jannah is like. I am unfamiliar with Quranic verses, hadith, and other scriptures relating to my topic. I have attempted to research it online, but most sources are inconsistent with others.

Any information would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Silver Medal

Silver Medal is a deep gray with neutral undertones and a metallic finish. The consistency was soft, a little drier to the touch, which made it have light fallout if applied with a dry brush. I’d use this with a dampened brush or gently pressed on with a fingertip for less fallout. It had rich pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.
