I'm a muslim.
Arab? May be. May be not.
I've a really big family,
with my brothers and sisters --
the akhis and the ukhtis, running into billions.
From the darkest of the dark and the tallest of the tall -
to the frailest and the whitest,
as sibling I have them all!
I cannot not meet each of them, that's still okay,
because I love them, which I don't need to say!
Not withstanding the colour of our skins,
we look quite similar,
in our actions and mannerisms --
when we kneel down to our Lord in humility,
and in the way we dress modestly
and the way we eat or go about our businesses...
Some stay close to me, others quite far away.
Still, when one of us is under pain,
each feels a pinch in the heart -
like a body feels the pain when a part of it is hurt!
United by love for the only true God
and his noble Messenger,
it doesn't take us long to connect.
Many of us meet every year, I tell you as a fact--
In our collective quest for closeness to Allah
at His exalted house in the city of Mecca.
I also look forward to our grand reunion,
over a cup from Kauthar, when it will be-
served by no one but the leader ﷺ of our family!
