I think that if we were to accept the idea that there is nothing after death, the prerequisite for that would be a world that is beautiful one without wars, suffering, or endless human conflict. But as long as these contradictions and bad things exist in the world, there must be a better, higher version of existence, as well as a divine court to hold us all accountable.
As you can see, life simply isn't fair. The rich are not held to the same standard as the poor, and people with a certain appearance are treated far better than those without. Life is inherently unjust, and it makes no sense for it to just end like this with no accountability, no justice, and everyone simply dying and vanishing into nothingness.A clear example of this is the Jeffrey Epstein case. For a long time, everything went smoothly for the perpetrators, and many involved were either ignored by governments or given minimal sentences. What about the victims? If death were truly the absolute end, what would be the point of all this? If life were perfect and peaceful, we could accept living as we please and then fading away. But since life isn't like that, who will hold accountable those whom we cannot reach or punish on Earth?
This is why death is merely the third stage of our journey: we are born (stage one), we live our current life (stage two), and death serves as the transition into the third stage. Beyond death lies the realm of Barzakh, followed by the Day of Judgment, and subsequent stages. Looking at it this way, it is the only thing that makes logical sense
To build further on this idea without saying anything beyond what Allah has revealed—when Allah SWT speaks to the angels in Surah Al-Baqarah, He says: 'Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority (Vicegerent/Khalifah).'
Allah created this vast universe in all its beauty with countless colors, forms, and manifestations specifically for us so that we would never grow weary. If everything were a single color or a single kind, human nature would inevitably tire of it. Even your favorite meal or favorite song loses its charm if experienced daily, simply because you become accustomed to it. That is why Allah designed a universe of infinite diversity, where there is always something new to explore.
He made us Khalifah (vicegerents) on Earth. A Khalifah is one who is entrusted to manage affairs on behalf of the King. Allah is the ultimate King, and we are His representatives on Earth, granted authority to navigate this universe, but strictly within the framework of His laws and rules.
Consider how Allah's divine system operates: He assigned angels to us some to record our good and bad deeds, others to protect us, and others to seek forgiveness for us. If you think about it, whenever princes or leaders assume authority, they are always accompanied by an entourage people who assist, observe, and ensure their actions align with their status. Similarly, Allah surrounds us with this spiritual support system to guide us, keep us on the straight path, and remind us of our purpose. All of this confirms that our earthly existence is not aimless; it is a preparation for what lies beyond this life.
