Assalamu Alaykum brothers and sisters,
As someone who studies mathematics, and as mentioned in title, I want to share a simple logical thought that proves Allah's presence in every single second of our lives.
You may meet people who believe life started by a "one-time accident" in the past. They say: "Yes, the chance of life starting by luck was small, but it only had to happen ONCE. Since we are here today, that blind luck worked."
They assume luck doesn't need to repeat itself for us to stay alive. But let's look at this using simple math and logic:
Let us assume your chance of staying alive in the next second is 0.5 ( like flipping a coin)
For 1 second: your chance is 0.5.
For 2 seconds: it becomes 0.5 x 0.5 = 0.25
For just 1 minute (60 seconds): the chance becomes almost zero!
In reality, your chance of surviving a second by pure luck is much smaller than 0.5. Why? Because there are infinite ways to die around us at any moment:
* Your heart could suddenly stop.
* An artery could burst.
* A deadly virus could strike.
* A space rock or disaster could happen.
To stay alive for just 1 second, every single one of these infinite causes of death must NOT happen at the same time. By pure luck, this is mathematically impossible. Blind luck can't sustain the universe second after second. It's not one chance and that's it, It's a small chance that must work every single moment.
Yet, we are still here. This continuous survival can't be a series of infinite lucky accidents. It requires an active, continuous Sustainer.
This is exactly what the Quran teaches us. Allah doesn't just say He created life in the past. He frequently uses the continuous verb "Yuhyi". This means He's continuously and actively giving you life in every single microsecond. He is Al-Qayyum (The Self-Sustaining Sustainer of all)
We are being kept alive right now, second by second, by the continuous Will of Allah. SubhanAllah.
Personally, every time I remind myself of this math, it strengthens my Iman and brings Khushu' to my heart.
Try to experience this for yourself next time you want to feel the persence and mercy of Allah:
For one minute, repeat these words to yourself with full awareness:
I'm still alive.. I'm still alive.. I'm still alive...
Do you feel goosebumps? Do you cry from the blessings of your Lord that pour down upon you continuously in every single moment of your life?
