My mother is refusing to arrange a marriage between me and a childhood friend saying she is "too educated for me" and "out of my league".

Title says it all. I have a 2 year degree, which went to waste and am now trying to become a pharmacy technician, and I'm a brother, age 24, childhood friend is 22 and is getting her master's from a top school.
