For context I’m a 20 something year old American male, that basically since birth has been hyper-focused on trying to understand the truth about the big, important questions.
In the past year, maybe two, I’ve become about as sure as one can possibly be that Islam coincides with my view (hopefully the correct one) of reality. The devout Muslims I’ve met are the best examples of the kind of people I think we should be. Even before discovering Islam, I had a set of beliefs enforced by logic & science about the way humans ought to act that lines up so closely with the faith that I feel it can’t be a coincidence. Then there’s other evidence we need not get into since you all are also believers.
My problem is, sometimes (too often) I myself fail to live up to or exist accordingly to these views. It might be a bit strange, but I think becoming more active in this community as well as taking the steps to be and feel more Muslim will help me walk the proper path. After all I don’t know a Muslim irl and am literally surrounded by haram / terrible temptations.
Does anyone have advice, things I should say or pronounce (the Shahada right?), etc etc. Thank you sm in advance!
