I’m a recent revert, and in my study I see that the spelling of our Prophet’s (SAW) name has a lot of variance (Muhammad, Mohammad, Mehmet, etc.) Is there a reason for this?
Also - when it comes to people with this name I see a lot of variations in the spelling as well, and I wanted to know if there are regional/cultural reasons for this, or something else. One explanation that I have heard is that the spelling “Muhammad” is believed by some to only be reserved for The Prophet (SAW), but I wanted to get more opinions on this. Thank you
