Not Muslim (I'm Christain) but I've always wondered how banking in Islam works. Like I know that charging or accepting interest or riba is a sin but can Muslims accept interest if they don't spend it on themselves? For example if they give it to a homeless shelter or food pantry, since it seems like that would do a lot of good.
Also if they can't charge interest how do Muslim Banks get money?
