Assalamu Alaikum my brothers and sisters.
My friend and I have gotten into an argument over an incident that recently happened in our local Masjid. I will not reveal too much information about this because it is still an ongoing case.
Long story short, a trusted member of our community was charged with unlawful sexual activity with minors, young Muslim boys in particular. The man is currently in custody awaiting trial.
I am aware that Allah SWT forgives all sin but Shirk, but will this disgusting act really be forgiven if the man repents? Will there really be no consequence? I've tried to find information online but I have not found anything that is similar to this case so my questions are left unanswered.
