Salam aleykom everyone,
I did the fatiha with all the family about a year ago, the good way with an imam. Couple days after when I told my dad I’m going to see the girl he got very mad saying that I’m not married and I’m only betrothed (fiance)…
Now a couple month later we even did the civil marriage at the mosque with government documents and he still has the same speech…
I don’t understand I asked all the family and my married friends they said that all he is saying is wrong and I always learned that there’s no fiance in islam, that you’re either in the halal or not…
He also refuses me to go live with her even if we definitely have more than enough to do it. I’ve been respecting his choice for about a year but it’s going no where, I don’t understand I did everything correctly religiously and culturally. What should I do?
