And do not turn your face away from people in contempt, nor go about in the land exulting overmuch; surely Allah does not love any self-conceited boaster” (Quran 31:18).
Unfortunately in our communities, you have a lot of people especially the older generation who look down upon those. Whether that be wealth, practicing level, lifestyle, etc. it’s really sad and it’s unbelievable how much these people care about what other people think and will be very judgmental in the name of image and class.
Just remember that Allah SWT gives and takes at any moment in our lives
You’re looking down on someone whose poorer then you? Allah SWT can take your wealth away and humble you. Wallahi a family friend just told me this story about an uncle who was wealthy and had so much arrogance about it. He became poor and his family members had to help him financially.
You’re looking down on someone who is less practicing then you? Allah SWT can have you struggle with an aspect of religion whenever
You making fun of someone for their looks, style, disability, etc? How do you know Allah SWT won’t teach you a lesson in that department someday?
Please everyone, be aware at how you look at others and what you think of them. Fear Allah SWT. He sees everything. He sees how you treat people. He never forgets and Allahu Allam what he could do to you to teach you a lesson. Do not look down upon others wallah. The almighty can put you in that same position one day.
