"And leave those who take their religion as amusement and diversion and whom the worldly life has deluded. But remind with the Qur'an, lest a soul be given up to destruction for what it earned; it will have other than Allah no protector and no intercessor. And if it should offer every compensation, it would not be taken from it. Those are the ones who are given to destruction for what they have earned. For them will be a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment because they used to disbelieve." Surah 6:70
Allah, the most high, has ordained mercy as one of his chief attributes and He is willing forgive all sins except Shirk. That doesn't mean that he will forgive ALL sinners, and he will punish those who don't take their religion seriously. Unfortunately, most Muslims completely neglect their duties. A Muslims who struggles to overcome their demons is different then a Muslim who ignores and excuses their demons. Muslims have neglected their duty to fight on the behalf of the oppressed, and neglect Allah's requests for the sake of this world's enjoyment. Allah's wrath will come, and Hell will be filled up.
