From my perspective, I don't believe slavery is a just thing to take part in, especially sex slavery. And from what I've read, it seems that one of the ways to be free is to become Muslim (which is a form of forced conversion).

I am muslim, I love islam, but revisiting this topic makes me upset as I study more about my religion this ramadan.

And before anyone says "it was the norm in the time of the Prophet" which seems to be a common answer online, so was alcohol. So was idol worship, and so was burying female babies, all of which were outright banned in islam no questions asked.
