Hello.
I am a coach of a youth football team, and amongst our players we have two Muslim boys.
We are currently just a few games away from winning our league; and if we do so (not counting chickens yet), we'd love to have a real celebration with the boys when the title is secured.
Obviously a traditional champagne celebration wouldn't be suitable (the boys are 12/13); but I've come across some Halal-certified non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice, which looks like it might do a similar job.
I don't want to get ahead of myself just yet (as we have three games still to play), but will broach to subject to the parents of the two boys shortly. However, does anyone think there would be an issue in using this product as a substitute for champagne (similar to how F1 drivers use Rose Water in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi)? The last thing I want is to generate a massive cultural faux-pas.
