This Ramadan I've given up listening to music while driving or going for walks and I've decided to listen to Quran instead (something I intend to continue post Ramadan). Was listening to the Quran yesterday and this verse struck me, especially in these times where everyone is talking about investing and returns, forgetting Allah (swt) has the best returns!
Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return. Say, "Shall I inform you of [something] better than that? For those who fear Allah will be gardens in the presence of their Lord beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and purified spouses and approval from Allah. And Allah is Seeing [i.e., aware] of [His] servants. Those who say, "Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire,". The patient, the true, the obedient, those who spend [in the way of Allah], and those who seek forgiveness before dawn."
-Surah Al Imran verse 14-17.
Invest your time in the way of Allah (swt) and you'll be rewarded with returns unmatched by anything on earth! Returns that last an eternity, returns where you don't have to worry about market crashes or inflation or the tax man or theft or damage. This is guaranteed returns for your everlasting life! So instead of spending hours researching which crypto to buy or which stocks to invest in, spend your time in prayer and spend your money towards helping other Muslim in the way of Allah (swt)!
