Something that I hear from a lot from younger muslims on the internet is: People whom are bf/gf should end their relationship and break all contact with each other and move on, even if they both repented and even planned to get married. Because apparently there can’t be a halal relationship (marriage) out of a relationship/love that started haram or got subjected to sins. Or something like that. Is this even based on islam? Or just an exaggerated way of thinking?
Like If I have a gf (which I don’t so don’t attack) whom I love and plan to marry, can’t we just repent and avoid sinful ways of contacting each other and talk in halal ways? Or do we have to break up and never speak to one anpther again?
