Know the etiquette of conveying the truth.
Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: We were sitting in front of the door of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and we were debating, bringing this verse and bringing this verse. The Prophet came out to us red with anger, as if a pomegranate seed had burst on his face. The Prophet said, “O these people! Is it with this I sent you? With this I commanded you? Do not return to unbelief after me by striking the necks of each other!” (Because arguing generates hatred in the heart)

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Arguing over the Quran is an act of unbelief.”

Al-Munawi said, “Meaning, one doubts it contains the word of Allah, or indulges the debate over whether it is new or ancient, or bickers over the unclear verses. That leads to denial, persecution, and bloodshed.”

Al-Rabia’ ibn Sulayman reported: Al-Shafi’i, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “Arguing about the religion hardens the heart and produces resentment.”
And Al-Shafi’i said, “I never debated anyone but with sincere good will.”

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: He heard the shouting of two men disputing over a verse. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came out to us and we could see the anger on his face, and he said, “Verily, those before you were ruined by their differences over the Book.”

Mu’adh ibn Jabal reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I guarantee a house on the outskirts of Paradise, a house in the middle of Paradise, and a house in the highest part of Paradise for one who gives up arguing even if he is right, who gives up lying even while joking, and who makes his character excellent.”

Ibn ‘Asakir reported: Shabib ibn Shaybah, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “Whoever hears a word he disapproves, he should be silent. What he disapproves will cease. If he answers it, he will hear more of what he disapproves.”

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If my companions are mentioned, be restrained. If the stars are mentioned, then be restrained. If the divine decree is mentioned, be restrained.”

Ibn ‘Abd al-Hakam reported: Al-Shafi’i, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “Among the degradation of knowledge is that you debate everyone who debates you, or you argue with everyone who argues with you.”
And he said, “Knowledge is ignorance to the people of ignorance, just as ignorance is ignorance to the people of knowledge.”

Al-Bayhaqi reported: Al-Shafi’i, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “I never debated anyone I knew to be founded upon innovation.”
Al-Bayhaqi said, “This is because the one founded upon innovation rarely turns away from his innovation through debate. Indeed, he would only debate whomever it was hoped would turn to the truth if it were clarified to him.”
