Hello all, I hope you’re having a good day. I am writing here to ask if I am a bad Muslim for not being very religious. Let me explain.
I was born into an immigrant family from Turkey, and have lived in the USA for most of my life. My parents are not super religious, and don’t pray 5 times a day or anything like that, but they told me the basic things like being kind to everyone, not to eat food that is haram, and not to lie. Stuff like that. However, my faith has not really gone beyond this. I don’t pray 5 times a day, I don’t memorize any chapter or surahs, and I don’t read the Quran. However, I still tell people I am a Muslim and I do genuinely believe that Allah exists. Ive just been thinking about if my actions, or lack thereof, make me a bad Muslim.
