If Mike Tyson is Muslim (he converted while in prison in 1992), why did he buy a cannabis farm, smokes it daily, and uses cannabis everyday which is haram, why?

So basically, Mike Tyson uses (smokes) marijuana (with high concentration of THC) daily all day. Yet he claims to be a devout Muslim, why would he knowingly do this and does this mean it is not necessarily bad to smoke (not that haram actually)?

Edit: it confuses me because I thought getting high was a major sin in Islam, yet, I see a devout Muslim do it and promote it.
