Just wanted people to know Muhammad (saw) was depicted as a rather semi dark brown in the Charlie Hedbo cartoons despite him being referenced as pale and pale-ish. This is a classic black and brown = bad like big nose = bad in political cartoons.
Similarly Persian kings in the 300 were depicted as black because it equals bad like they were also depicted as queer even though ironically Spartans and Greeks were gay.
I'm sure there was a moment in which the thought of "I need to depict Muhammad as ugly, let's make him an ugly brown".
But I guess the French love free speech and Charlie Hebdo fans are either ignorant or ok with racism.
