Salam,

First of all I want to say that this sub has been massively helpful in dispelling my doubts, so thank you to everyone who has helped, and may Allah SWT reward you for your efforts.

Most of my doubts have been resolved but there's this one thing that I can't seem to find an explanation for. Basically, there are some hadiths that are questionable, for lack of a better word.

One example that comes to mind is this:

"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The man's water is thick and white, and the woman's water is thin and yellow. Whichever of them comes first, the child will resemble (that parent).'"

But this is pretty contrary to what has been scientifically established - for reasons that I'm sure I don't have to list here. That's just not how genetics work. There's a hadith similar to this one that says the gender of the child is determined by which ever parent comes first, and again that's not scientific.

So as a muslim, I feel a little conflicted. Because if someone were to argue that how could a prophet of God make erroneous claims, I wouldn't know how to answer that. Especially when the hadith have been classified as sahih.

Another hadith that's not scientific but also kinda problematic is one where The Prophet PBUH is reported to have said that the average age of his ummah will be between 60-70 years and few will pass that, but the global average age now is above 70, so quite a few people are passing that.

If anyone has any insights on how to resolve these issues I'd greatly appreciate it.
