I am a revert who lives in the West.
In a few years time, I have learned a lot about clothing that are permissible and halal, and things that are not, but my question was more on the fashion/cultural side of things.
When people like myself wear more traditional Islamic style clothing, what should we know when it comes to particular styles, designs, and colors? And what are acceptable for men?
Obviously there’s no national dress where I am to reference like Islamic majority countries, so are there acceptable things we can adopt that aren’t associated with any particular culture? I Don’t want to offend or ignorantly misrepresent
Example: I have a brown and white Keffiyeh I use to cover tattoos from before I reverted, is this acceptable? Is there any way I should NOT wear it? What colors will not give me any problems (I am not Middle Eastern, Arab,North African, or Persian)
