Up and until this very moment, the world has no solution for this virus except by taking extreme precautionary measures even by force.

Islam has a similar mechanism to help believers avoid the haram. It is called Saddu-Thara2i3 which means blocking halal options / ways that might lead to Haram.

One of the positive aspects of Covid19 is that it has brought up the importance of this concept for Muslims.

Imam Malik, Imam Ash-Shattibbi, and others, expanded their interpretation and explanation of the concept and how important it is for our deen and dunia.

There are many situations in which we are ordered to avoid some halal options that might lead to shubha or to haram.

Yes. Some halal venues are to be avoided on a balance of probability if they might lead to bad consequences. Imam Malik asserts that: [Muslims are ordered to] leave what appears to be permissible but leads and yields into a bad end or into haram. Imam As-Shattibbi added another dimension for this concept as he asserts that even if the issue is not only permissible but it might also bring a benefit, it must be avoided as it would lead into a bad impermissible consequence. He added: the reality of the rule of blocking evasive ways into haram (Sadd Athara2i3) is to seek the benefit which lead into a curse.

Ibnul-Quayyem added that this rule represents Quarter of Islam

Now we can see how important is to avoid the downward slope no matter how lucrative they are. For some time, a lot of muslims used to make fun of the concept and advance the benefits no matter how corrupt the results will be.

Why do we accept precaution measures when they are healthier for the body, and we reject the concept when it is healthier for our religion?
