For the uninitiated, The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 is a bill amending the Citizenship Act of 1955 to make illegal migrants who are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, who entered India on or before 31 December 2014, eligible for Indian citizenship.

Muslims have been excluded from the bill being claimed that they aren't amongst the communities that are being affected by persecution in these countries.

As much as we highlight how prejudice Indians are and how they go about outright discriminating against a religious minority, which is bad, and the vast majority of intellectuals amongst us acknowledge it and have been speaking against it in parliament and elsewhere. We must also look into this in another perspective. We talk so much about Muslims being persecuted here, which is a complete exaggeration to the extent in which it is viewed. The whole crust of the bill is to protect minorites in MUSLIM majority countries, who have fled and wish to seek asylum in India.

Let's no forget that it has an element of truth. We've always been welcoming to refugees here. The BJP altho wants this to be in favour of Hindus for a particular vote bank doesn't negate the point that India is a land wherein people of different religions and cultures have always strived for oneness. We as Muslims should realise that our ancestors also fought for the freedom struggle and IT IS OUR LAND. Keep aside the crappy delusion of Ghazwa e Hind and b.s.

If Muslims were morally good and these so called Muslim countries were ideals to the image of Islam, and actually been Ummatul Wasat, this question would not been aroused in the first place

Wake up and smell the coffee. Stop playing the victim card all the time. We can only change ourselves. May God protect us and guide us all.
