We used to lead the world in that field. Now we are barely present on the academic field, when was the last time a muslim won the nobel prize in STEM? Im not here to diminish my fellow muslims, but it seems muslims are putting less empahsis on knowledge and thinking than back during our golden age. I read an interesting article on the matter, sadly it was packed with orientalism and "muslims turned away from science because Islam is restrictive" and that crap. But it begs the mind. I would love to see a group of muslims develop the next big thing when it comes to engineering or biology or whatever.
