I hope this post doesn't get deleted because I think its very relevant. We are living in a time where money does all the talking and given the dire situation in China with the crackdown on Muslims, we have every duty to support our brothers/sisters in any way we can. I keep seeing people say "boycott China!" but we all know that's not very practical at least not with some help.
So with that, I'm wondering if anyone knows an app or website that you can use to put in a product and it will tell you alternatives made in other countries. This would be extremely valuable for us to take practical steps to boycotting this China. Please share what you know or if you have any other practical tips on what we can do all around the world.
We all know the hadith:
“Whoever among you sees evil, let him change it with his hand. If he is unable to do so, then with his tongue. If he is unable to do so, then with his heart, and that is the weakest level of faith.”
And if we are able to aid our brothers/sisters at the cost of some discomfort to our already relatively comfortable lifestyles, then we should do this immediately. However, this will only be effective if many of us act in unity.
We keep boasting about the number of Muslims in the world but our effectiveness on the world scale is practically zero because our love of the worldly life has overtaken our fear of Allah SWT. So I urge everyone, next time you go shopping, take some extra time to prepare and do some basic research into where your groceries/products are coming from. Because I know its in our capacity to do this, and if that be the case, then you will be asked about this on the day of judgement.
