Bothers I saw on TV a Muslim audience member commented on the fact that being Muslim and gay is not possible.. This is wrong. In Islam we pick the better of the two options.
Taking or paying Interest is clearly declared as going to war with Allah (May Allah forgive me).
So if you had to pick between zina and interest, then zina is better of the two choices.
Similarly if someone is deciding between kufar/shirk and zina, the better of the two options is zina.
In a nutshell we allow them to continue, and treat them the same we would treat a sinner. By having the best of manners, speech and actions. The way Allah (SWT) validates the Quran, besides the literal thousands of other forms of validation, is by having it's Muslim have the best of characters.
Jerusalem fell in love with Umar (RA) due to the way he behaved when he entered the city. (Breath taking historical event worth reading). Muslims though out history, have spread Islam through the way they behaved, and treated them. Our Akhlaq are our dawah, not our words nor our sword.
So next time we encounter an LGBT muslim, our Akhlaq should be the best, to the point where they cannot deny we are the truth.
A great test is check your akhlaq:
If you were hungry and paid for a shawarma and a samaso to eat. How would you share it with your fellow hungry muslim brother, (if he could not order), the samosa or the shawarma or would you split it in half?
(The best among you is the one who shares the entire shawarma and only eats the samosa, as it is this type of charity the sahabah and the prophet (SAWS) embodied. The kind that guides people to the truth, absolute selfless is all ways more attractive then absolute selfishness something the ummah is falling towards unfortunately.)
