Hello,

I been interested in Islam heavily as a Muslim I was very illiterate. I been reading books from scholar from Saudi Arabia such as Sheikh Bin Baz, Sheikh Al Fawzan but there are people that are warning me saying not to take knowledge from them and they are giving me books on 'western' scholars like graduates from Yale universities etc.

I am wondering why are people telling me to avoid scholars such as Al-Fawzan? Is it beneficial to read books from them because based on one of the book I finished "The Book of Tawhid" by Sahih al Fawzan, I did not find anything out of ordinary and I felt like I learned lot of references from Quran and Hadith that I never knew were connected.

Edit: One common answer I get is that "Their views are extreme" but I still don't understand what do people mean by extreme because I cannot find any sources of them saying anything extreme.
