These questions arose out of a recent discussion I had. For that reason, much of the language might be a little unappealing if not blasphemous, but answering these would help a lot.
1) how can we trust certain aspects of Muhammad’s (saws) history are not exaggerations? For example, how do we know his feet would swell from prayer actually? Or that he was offered power early in his prophethood? I know you will say it’s because the witnesses wouldn’t have a reason to lie—but wouldn’t they? Wouldn’t they want to paint the best picture possible?
2) How do we know certain miracles happened? For example, the moon splitting was not witnessed anywhere in the world. How do we know it actually happened other from Islamic sources?
