I’m a Spanish teacher planning to bring some foods in for my students for their end of year party and the most culturally significant dish I’m making contains beef. One of my students is Muslim and he said he’d be ok if I just brought something vegetarian, but I’d really like him to be able to be included in all of the festivities.
I’ve got a place to buy halal beef, but is there anything else I need to know about halal cooking? I’ve looked around online and it seems like I’m good as long as there’s no non-halal meat in the dish or alcohol, but are there any other rules that I might have missed? Like do I need to store the meat away from non-halal meat? Is there any restriction on mixing ingredients?
Sorry if I’m overthinking it, but it’s not something I’ve had to consider before and I don’t want to accidentally provide him with something that isn’t good for him. Thanks for your time.
