Let me preface by saying I'm not Muslim nor do I intend on becoming Muslim, I'm an atheist. But as someone who is regularly involved in discussions about religion, I'm studying history in college with the hopes to be a history and government teacher, I figured it's only right to learn more about Islam since it comes up so much. So much of what we hear about Islam is nonsense in the media and I would like to hear more about it from those actually a part of the religion. I know a lot about Christianity as my father is a pastor and my grandfather before him. I'm really curious about Islam and the Muslim culture, especially in the 21st century. Any suggestions for where I should go to learn more?
