Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu brother and sister. Here is something i did in middle school and lost a lot of weight. I avoided consulting a dietitian as its a money grabbing industry and I want other people to benefit from it as well so here it is:

Here is my guide to lose weight by following Sunnahs:

1) WALK TO THE MASJID FOR EVERY PRAYER: This is a simple yet effective way to walk and earn some good deeds (Every step towards the masjid increases you in rank)

2) KEEP FASTS ON EVERY MONDAY AND THURSDAY: As we all know, it is sunnah to keep fast every monday and thursday. A fast helps you control your hunger and makes you feel less hungry than you normally would. I would say this is the most important step. (The prophet used to fast every Mondays and Thursday as the angels show Allah his servants deeds those days)

3) PRAY 5 TIMES A DAY: This might sound obvious but praying 5 times a day is like doing yoga everyday. Both are good for your health!

4) ASK ALLAH TO HELP YOU: Folks, without this one, you ain't getting nowhere!

5) DRINK AND EAT ACCORDING TO THE SUNNAHS: “The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach. It is enough for the son of Adam to eat a few mouthfuls to keep him going, but if he must (fill his stomach), then one third for his food, one third for his drink and one third for air.” - al-Mawsoo‘ah al-Fiqhiyyah (25/332). That will lead to a lean and light body, because eating one’s full leads to heaviness, which makes one too lazy to do acts of worship and strive. This also helps you eat less and hence gain less weight

Some other things I'd like to mention:

• Try avoiding sugar, oily and fast foods. (IMPORTANT)

• Avoid cold drinks (IMPORTANT)

• If you avoid sugar for a month then you will forget the taste of it and then you won't have to desire to eat it again. (Avoid tea/Coffee with sugar) (this was tested)

• Sleep after Isha and wake up to pray Tahajjud and fajr

• Get Enough sleep or your metabolism will be messed up

• Do some excercises lile crunches, weightlifting, squats, push-ups etc it helps to make the process faster

• Eat graps, apple and dates, they help you feel full.

• Eat Fruits and vegetables when hungry

• Crouching helps suppress an empty stomach (Personal experience)

• Avoid rice (it's okay if eaten moderately)

• Drinking water helps sometimes to fill an empty stomach

• Losing weight makes it easier to pray and you feel lazy less often. Its a win-win situation
