He approached me because my feet were pointed to the qibla. I basically told him there’s ikhtilaf on this and i can leave my feet there since i follow that position. He seemed very... boxed into his views. Anyway, we got to talking, and here is a list of things he mentioned:

Say sal’Allahu ‘alayhi wasalam after saying Jibreel instead of ‘alayhi salam

Adamant that i refer to him as sayyidna Jibreel

That only the angels are mu’minoon. I went to sura mu’minoon and showed him where Allah ‘azza wajal describes the mu’minoon as... guarding their private parts, except from their wives. I asked if the angels guard their private parts? He said “astaghfirullah of course they do” iirc. I said but are the angels male and female? Nay, they have no gender. So why assume they have private parts? In addition, do they have wives? No, so clearly this doesnt apply to angels. I also asked if the angels gave zakat, again “subhana rabbiyyal adheem of course they do! They purify themselves!” I was asking about the money... i asked if ‘Umar ra was a mu’min, he said Allahu ‘alam. Couldn’t believe it. Amir al mu’mineen not being a mu’min... okay. And don’t tell me he was the amir of the angels and that’s why he was called amir al mu’mineen.

He said that rasoolullah sal’Allahu ‘alayhi wasalam said to follow his way, so if you dont pray the rawatib, that is shirk. I wouldn’t let him leave from this point. So if i dont pray my sunnahs, im a mushrik? “Astaghfirullah no you are not!” But you said im comitting shirk if i dont pray the sunnahs, that means im a mushrik. Is it shirk if i dont pray the sunnahs? “You have left the way of rasoolulah sal’Allahu ‘alayhi wasalam!” Ok but is it shirk? Yes or no? “Did you leave his way?” Repeat avoiding the question

He said there are 7 samawaat, and that we cannot see the 1st sama. I said “aren’t we living in the sama addunya? Thats the 1st sama. Look, Allah ‘azza wajal says he adorned the 1st sama with lamps (stars).” His view was that (if i understand him correctly) that the stars are basically the border to the 1st sama?
If it helps, he looked hanafi based on the facial hair, and he was desi, maybe 50 years old
