**Salam everyone,**
I just wanted to ask what has helped you increase your yaqeen (certainty and trust in Allah), especially during periods when you feel like your duas aren’t being answered.
I’ve honestly been struggling a lot lately, and it feels like it’s getting harder day by day. I’ve found myself becoming more and more depressed watching people around me have their duas come true, especially when I feel like I’ve been making the same duas for so long without seeing any results.
I even went to Umrah and made so many duas, but I still find myself in this position. Sometimes it makes me question whether I’m doing something wrong, whether I’m undeserving, or whether Allah is upset with me. I know these aren’t thoughts I should dwell on, but they’re genuinely difficult to shake.
Another thing that’s been weighing on me is how much I’ve changed. I used to be an excellent student, I graduated with honors, and I was always academically motivated. But now, I feel like I can’t get into any of the programs I’ve been working towards. I struggle to find motivation, procrastinate, and sometimes feel randomly lazy when that was never who I used to be. It’s almost like I’ve lost the drive I once had, and I don’t understand why.
It has crossed my mind whether this could be hasad (evil eye), or whether there’s something spiritually affecting me, especially because I feel so different from how I used to be. I don’t want to attribute everything to hasad, but I genuinely don’t know how to make sense of this sudden change.
I’ve been trying to increase my istighfar again and work on my relationship with Allah, but I’m struggling with my yaqeen. Sometimes the thought of “what’s the point?” creeps in, and I hate that I’m even thinking this way.
For those of you who have gone through something similar, what helped you rebuild your yaqeen? How did you continue making dua and trusting Allah when you weren’t seeing anything happen? How do you stop feeling like Allah is withholding things from you or that you’re somehow undeserving?
I really would appreciate genuine advice, reminders, and personal experiences. Jazakum Allahu khairan.
