Hello everyone,

Im a new revert to islam who is sharing my thoughts on a rather interesting topic.

The Quran is rather clear on its stance against polytheism. And there's a single verse that stuck with me to this day, and the more I think about it, the more I think it makes more sense.

I seek refuge in allah from Satan, the verse says: ((Had there been within them gods besides Allāh, they both would have been ruined. So exalted is Allāh, Lord of the Throne)) [prophets:22]

Let's go back thousands of years ago when polytheism was thriving. You have the sumerians worshipping gods like Anu, enki, enlil..., the ancient Egyptians worshipping ra, amun, bastet..., and most famously the Greeks with zeus, poseidon and hades...

All of these polytheistic beliefs share one thing in common: the gods are almost always fighting between one another. Whenever the supreme deity gets angry at another deity, he punishes them, and thus, mortals have to suffer the consequences of that god being locked away, for example.

I am not very educated in the topic of mythology, but I happen to come across these stories of ancient gods fighting between one another from time to time. And whenever I do read them [Quran, prophets:22] comes to my mind. And im like: "yes, there can't be many gods because this is the consequences of having different gods."

Lastly, I would also point out something that further solidifies my belief in one god, which is that everything in this world is created from the same thing. Atoms make up everything. And they can be divided further into protons, neutrons and electrons.

So if everything in this world is made up of this one thing, it makes me further believe that the creator is one.

Thank you for taking the time,

Have a nice day 🤍
