It is stated in the Quran, that humans and djinns were both created in order to worship God. But why ? I understand that we are the one in need of Allah’s mercy and grace, which makes the benefits one-sided, and I also think that God as merciful as He is, wants our good and so He orders us to worship Him. The question here is, if we acknowledge that creation’s ultimate goal is worship, why do He desires it (as opposed to the need, which refers to the essential things to live, desire focuses on what one would like to obtain, but which is not a basic need) ?
