I just read this in the Quran and its crazy. I was reading Surah Al Masad and it said how that Abu Lahab and his wife would burn in the hellfire. "The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish. His wealth and gains will not exempt him. He will be plunged in flaming Fire, and his wife, the wood carrier, will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre" (111:1-5). The thing is he was still alive and could have accepted Islam and completely destroyed Islam as a whole, but he didn't. He was an enemy of Islam and could have easily destroyed it. He hated Islam, he antagonized it, yet he didn't convert and collapse Islam.
