salaam everyone
sorry for the weird title, i was just not sure how to name it. i have a couple of questions that hopefully I can get some insight on (planning on taking the shahada soon, but I wanted to know some things before):
- can you do voluntary fast (so Monday and Thursday) if you are on your period? (as in do they count as a good deed or it's better to just wait for it to finish?)
- touching the Quran on your period is prohibited, but what about reading it online? can you read it out loud (on your period)?
- if you read the Quran online, is it permissible to underline things/make notes on it? (considering it's not a physical copy of it)
- is your shahada still valid if you do it alone and with really bad pronunciation? should you do wudu before?
- is fasting on your period while on Ramadan allowed? i read two different articles, one saying that unless you have an illness or are traveling, then you should fast, and the other one saying that women shouldn't fast on their periods and that their fast gets invalidated by having their period (i also have pcos and endometriosis - so illnesses that are accentuated by your period, but not sure if this is a "grey area")
- if you say Bismillah/Astaghfirullah/Inshallah should you say them out loud, or does saying them in your head have the same effect? (so if you do a good deed, should you say out loud "Basmala" before doing it?)
- does bad pronunciation in general affect your salat/duas/etc? (applicable to 6 as well haha)
- is having not taken the shahada yet, but having incorporated different Islamic practices haram?
Sorry if any of these are stupid, I am trying to learn as I go and gather as much information as I can.
Thank you to everyone!!
