Salaam everyone , hope y'all doing fine inchallah today I'm going to talk about such an important , serious and sensitive topic I'll tell you the truth about the other side of the feminism that nobody else have told you before this will be a series of posts inchallah each one contains an explication of certain verse . This conversation is between a feminist and a Muslim from the video of Dr Eyad Qunaibi : https://youtu.be/BcZxlqhp2Iw
Layla: i will go to feminists protest tomorrow do you want to join me?
Me: No, i can't feminism is against islam.
Layla : (laughing) what? We're just fighting for our rights!
Me: islam have already given us all of our rights why shall we fight for them ?
Layla: Because they're not being applied in real life that's why! And honestly i think there are some rules in islam that oppresses women a lot !
Me : if they are not being applied you should blame the society instead go and protest in front of the offices of gouvernements and ask them to apply the correct rules of Islamic sharia then the justice you're looking for will accomplish don't ask them for rights (or for some more ) because they already exists _ if it seems to you that certain rules are oppressive then wether it's because you don't understand the correct meaning of the verse and the purpose behind it or because you see society's behavior towards the women unjust and incorrect and in both cases the one who's unfair and oppressing is society not islam !
Layla (feminist) : if you're saying the truth then why Allah says in Quran: "Men are the protectors and maintainers of women because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other and because they support them from their means "(Al Nisaa 34) so men have the power to rule over you and to control you because they are better than you and spend on you so they can buy your freedom and dignity with their money and they regard this support as a favor to you under the slogan of Qiwamah and guardianship haaa ?!!
Me: the true meaning of the verse for who understands the command of her Lord and believes in his wisdom and justice "Men are the protectors and maintainers of women" it means that they are responsible for women and concerned with their affairs so this is a command from Allah for men to take the responsibility of caring for women protecting them spending on them and satisfying their needs never exposing them to humiliation or leaving them prey to 'wolves' as if we see with the poor western women Qiwamah is an obligation of a man towards a women wether wife , sister , daughter etc as per the Islamic hierarchy pertaining to his relationship to the women this position is not entitlement for the man Wich he can give up rather , it is an obligation and its abandonment is a sin , in the Islamic system a woman never lacks a man to care for her and spare her the need to earn money unless she herself doesn't want it if a guardian doesn't exist then the state will meet her needs and the ruler is the guardian of those without guardians therefore Qiwamah is your right from the men it means that he protects you and your honor, sacrifices himself to protect you _ if necessary and defends you if your dignity is offended in the slightest ! Unlike the apathetic world of the west "true caretakers " and many who were incited by RAMBOS and "GORELS" to reject Qiwamah under the slogan of economic empowerment fell into trap and borrowed from the "GORELS" then when they failed to payback the state _Wich was supposed to provide for women in need _ came along to imprison or humiliate them after it had urged them to reject Qiwamah so , when women exchanged that what is better for what is less she exchanged the Qiwamah of her family with the prison of "GOREL" . These protectors and maintainers must lead the family and it is a responsibility before being a right in return of this responsibility women owe men obedience in what considered men's rights over them e.g. a women not leaving her home without her husband's permission .
Layla : (impressed )... Then what .. what about "because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other "does that mean we're lesser than them ?!
Me: Layla Allah SWT didn't say "since he made them better than you " or he didn't say "since he made men better than women " But he said "because Allah has given the one more than the other " therefore, he made men better in some rulling and tasks and made women better in other rulings and tasks , this preference wisely takes into consideration what Allah instilled in a woman 's nature of emotional, physical and mental abilities Wich equip her for the role of raising children and for providing a warm refuge and serenity to her husband as he does for her and this preference takes also into account the physical metal and psychological abilities instilled in a man 's nature that makes him a better provider and decision maker .
To be continued... inchallah
