Salam guys. Looking for some advice/insight on how to navigate a difficult situation. I’m a 28yr old female, married for 6 years and have a 20mo old baby. Around 4 months ago my husband touched a female coworker inappropriately and made some vulgar comments about her ‘nice’ physique. She didn’t entertain him, reported him for sexual harassment and he was put on leave while required to seek counseling services as well as stress management to allow him to potentially keep his license and work in the future (physician). I didn’t find out about this until a month later, after Ramadan. He says he wanted to take this time to prove to me how much he loves me and how good of a person he wants to be. During the last year he stopped praying, hung out with the wrong people, watching porn regularly and was seemingly leaving Islam (we were getting close to divorce since our values didn’t line up anymore) and so during this month he became the ideal Muslim man. We’ve been separated since I found out in May. My question is do I give this guy another chance? I feel that he didn’t value me when another man could. I’ve been a great wife and have so much to offer and it’s all gone to waste. I don’t mean to sound arrogant but I’m attractive, I’m fit, I have a high sex drive, I cook and clean and plan fun outings and activities, a good mother and practicing Muslim… He’s doing and saying all the right things now but it’s hard for me to believe that something like this won’t happen again especially since I already was a great wife, there’s not much else I can do. His argument is that he was lost and out of control, selfish and didn’t care about Islam. He thinks he had to hit rock bottom by losing his job and family to wake up and realize the blessing he’s had. He prays all salah and sunnah now, reads Quran daily and Listens to Islamic lectures. Can a man really change to the extent that he is saying or is this temporary? Will the desire to touch and be with other women always be there or can a man really get over that?
