If you were trained in self defense and were armed, would you shoot and kill a robber pointing a gun at you?

I am wondering about the Islamic perspective on this. I’ve seen many videos that end this way.

I fear taking someone’s life away so I would probably just hand over my belongings to the robber instead of take a life.

Curious what you guys have to say.
