My mum eats haram but she is fully convinced that the meat is okay to eat because of the verse which allows the food of the people of the book and as the UK is technically christian their food is fine to eat.

I have been advised by people with more knowledge than me that the food is still haram for other reasons, not one source said otherwise other than my mother, so that is the view I take.

My problem isn’t whether she eats haram or not, I cannot force someone into internalising my views. But my brother is non-verbally autistic and cannot make decisions and my mum takes care of him however sometimes I have to take care of him when she’s not there.

She instructs me to buy him meat which is haram, if I do not buy it I will have problems: 1. My brother has his preferences which cannot be changed, in this case certain haram food locations, so by trying a halal location that he’s not used to he might get uncontrollably angry. 2. My mum will say I’m being extreme and will refuse to let me care for him and will end up hiring random carers which will end up costing her a fortune which is not ideal considering she’s not in a great position financially, and she has no problem relying on credit cards and interest. I don’t want her to go further in debt, nor do I want to have an argument.

Am I sinful if I buy this haram food to feed my brother.
