Assalamualikum people. One thing that I've been noticing among young people in their mid to late twenties is that they like talking about the religion a lot. Most of their sources come directly from the internet (from a preacher or a scholar they follow) without any practical application of the said thing. That's not to say that the internet does not provide authentic sources but I am seeing a gulf between how young people talk about religion and how they choose to follow it. Is it a trend these days to have a lot of knowledge about everything? If so, how beneficial is talking about it? Moreover, little acts like avoiding backbiting, avoiding telling lies, protecting our gaze, respecting our elders and parents and just generally having a pure intention in whatever we do, is what's rarely seen in young adults.

Would you rather prefer taking Islam from the words of someone or their actions and a display of their character? Which approach is better?
